Following the 4K media-focused Xbox One S, Microsoft launched the Xbox One X is Microsoft's latest games console, sporting six teraflops (TF) of computational power to produce 4K HDR visuals across countless games. Regardless of which console you have, you're going to need accessories.
If you're jumping into the Xbox ecosystem for the first time (and have the cash to burn), there are more than a few accessories and plenty of other hardware you need to complete your setup. Here are some of our recommendations for Xbox accessories, 4K TVs, and other products to improve the overall "Xperience" (sorry).

Custom controllers
Custom Xbox Design Lab Controller
The Xbox Design Lab lets you tailor an Xbox controller with colors of your choice. You can even select different types of material finishes for the triggers.
The Design Lab controllers also support Bluetooth, making them a viable option for PCs and compatible mobile games. Design Lab controllers start at $70. We're big fans of them at Windows Central.

4K glory
TCL 55R617
If you're going all-in on the 4K ecosystem for the Xbox One X, picking up a powerful TV is a no-brainer. TCL is known for making excellent 4K panels on a budget, and this new 55-inch set is no exception. It won't produce images as sharp as a higher-end set, but if you're looking for value, look no further.

Control all the things
PDP Talon Media Remote
The PDP Talon Media remote gets our pick as the best media remote for Xbox One, even better (and cheaper) than Microsoft's home-grown solution. The PDP Talon Media remote has every control needed to take command of Netflix, TV, and purchased movies and shows, all from the comfort of your sofa.

Stand at attention
Xbox One vertical stands
Unlike the original Xbox One which could only be placed horizontally, the Xbox One X and S have been designed to accommodate vertical positioning. PowerA make stands compatible with both the Xbox One X and Xbox One S. Standing the consoles on their sides even further space no matter the surface you're standing it on.

Netflix for games
Xbox Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass is a recent addition to the Xbox One family, offering a Netflix-style subscription service for a library of curated titles. For a flat monthly fee of $9.99, buyers will gain access to the entire library of Xbox Game Pass titles – now nearly 150 titles strong.

Voice control
Amazon Echo
With the most recent Xbox update, you can now control your Xbox console using voice commands via an Amazon Echo speaker. Amazon Echo devices start at $50 and currently sport the widest array of support for connected devices and services. In addition to controlling your Xbox, you'll be able to ask Alexa to play songs on Spotify, pull up weather reports, and much, much more.

Live it up
Xbox Live
Xbox Live Gold is the essential subscription for any Xbox One user, offering access to some of the console's best features. This premium subscription grants full access to Microsoft's gaming network, including online multiplayer and group party chat. As a part of the subscription, you'll also be enrolled in Games with Gold – a service will offers four free games per month across Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Wireless sound
Turtle Beach Stealth 600
For voice communication, a headset is a must, and we're currently recommending the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 as the best value wireless Xbox One headset. With excellent battery life, full wireless capabilities, mic monitoring feedback, and an excellent design and construction, you won't be disappointed.

Wireless sound
Turtle Beach Atlas Elite
If you prefer quality wired headsets, our current favorite is the new Atlas Elite from Turtle Beach.
Sporting premium audio tuning, with robust materials and high-quality construction, the Atlas Elite is tough to beat on value, which feels (and sounds) as though it could be far more expensive. A great step up for Turtle Beach.

Extra storage
Seagate External HDD
All those 4K game assets wreak havoc on a game's installation size. Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to clock in at 100GB at launch, and will no doubt get even larger with subsequent DLC and updates. As such, an external storage device is practically a must these days. Seagate does an excellent range of Xbox external HDDs starting at $90, all the way up to a mammoth 8TB, ensuring you'll never struggle for space again.

Type it up
Xbox One Chatpad
If you hate typing messages with the joystick, the Xbox One Chatpad is a worthy pickup.
Plugged into the bottom of your controller, the Xbox Chatpad adds a QWERTY keyboard that's far quicker to type with than the on-screen keyboard we tend to suffer through.

Superior batteries
Panasonic Eneloop Charger
Standard AA batteries can become seriously expensive over time, that's why investing in a decent rechargeable solution will save you money.
Panasonic's Eneloop batteries can be recharged many, many times before falling flat completely, and also charge up extremely fast in around 30 minutes from zero to full. I've been using these for years and cannot recommend them enough.
4K future
While the Xbox One S is still very good over all, the Xbox One X is a true monster, powering the best visuals in console gaming today. Once you've experienced 4K visuals, it's hard to go back. But even if you're rocking a 1080p TV, many games also feature 60 FPS performance modes.
As for best accessories, I'm a big fan of the Alexa integration Microsoft is putting forward for the next big Xbox update, and can't recommend an Amazon Echo enough. We're also big fans of wireless headsets, particularly Turtle Beach's Stealth 600, for its wide array of features and solid audio quality.
